My Story
Hi, I’m Kristina, but I like people to call me Chrissy. I’m a 25-year-old children's book illustrator and graphic designer from Bulgaria. My design journey might surprise you. I actually started as a medical student and spent four intense years working in healthcare, including on the COVID-19 ward, COVID-19 resuscitation, and vascular surgery. But during that time, I realized that my true passion has always been art.
So, while still in medical school, I decided to make a bold move and started studying graphic design, and changed my career.
When it comes to my work, nature is a huge inspiration for me, and I believe my love for travel enriches that creativity even more. I’ve visited 24 countries (and counting), and each adventure has opened my eyes to new cultures and ideas. These experiences not only fuel my passion for art but also provide me with a vast perspective on the world, which translates into my designs.
My art reflects my love for nature, and I’m always ready to take on new creative challenges. Thanks to my time working in the hospital, I’m no stranger to working under pressure - so deadlines? Bring them on! I pride myself on my strong work ethic and on delivering all projects on time. I’m always learning, growing, and ready to explore new things - both in art and in life!

Storytelling & Writing

Alongside my illustration work, I’ve been exploring storytelling and narrative development to deepen the way I create visual stories. Recently, I completed an online Creative Writing course with the University of Oxford, where I focused on building characters, atmosphere, and emotional depth in storytelling. While illustration remains my main focus, learning to shape stories from both a visual and written perspective is something I care deeply about, especially in the context of children’s books.
