Lizabeth
and the Great
Tooth Fairy Blunder

by Nicole Mechem

When Lizabeth loses her first tooth, she can’t wait for a visit from the Tooth Fairy. But when her favorite doll vanishes instead of her tooth, Lizabeth learns that kindness and forgiveness are the greatest kinds of magic.

What inspired the story

"One beautiful idea. One different perspective. That’s all it took to spark this entire story. At bedtime one night in early 2024, my daughters and I were imagining how the Tooth Fairy collects all those tiny teeth from under kids’ pillows. My eldest shared her theory that the fairy uses her magic to make teeth float out from under pillows and right into her bag. That idea stuck with me long after they fell asleep, and I spent the rest of the night writing the story that became this book. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. The drawing shown here is my daughter’s original Tooth Fairy artwork, which was the inspiration for my illustrator as she developed the visual style of the entire book" - Nicole

"On this particular night, the Tooth Fairy overslept and forgot to pack her fairy juice."

"Lizabeth was an extraordinary girl,

even if she didn’t know she was."
